Had my 83 G4 turn up a week ago. Upgraded from the 65 C7. Its frigging huge. Have also educated myself on filmmaker/game mode (with warm temp) was the fool who used to play in cool/vivid. I have now seen that light, and understand why its superior.

G4 has better backs obviously and looks incredible in darker rooms. The Bravia 9 looks so much brighter, and performs better in brighter rooms. It's cheaper, and I believe colours are more accurate. People would gladly take the Sony over the LG

Great video, I haven't seen one yet as thorough as yours for the G4 with gaming. If its not too much trouble would you be able to test and post results with input lag and brightness levels in the HDR Vivid mode with 144hz? To my eyes on my 55" model it looks brighter when i switch it to that mode and you have more adjustments for color and a few other things however the input latency feels just a touch higher to me vs the game optimizer picture mode.

As I posted in his other video about the G4, my friend has a 100U8K. Gaming on that thing is spectacular especially considering it is brighter and has better color depth than the G4. Does it have better viewing angle and black levels and picture processing than the G4? No but it costs $3000 while the G4 is $6500 and the G4 is not $3500 better. My OLED will be replaced by an extra large LCD, the extra size plus its cost/performance ratio cannot be matched by OLED. On a side note, it’s very telling how fast Villaman dropped the UST to go back to a direct display. USTs cannot compare to a great OLED or LCD, they are inferior display devices.

83” G4 doesn’t have the newest MLA 2.0, only 55,65,77” does.

I would like to ask. If I have 144HZ but my fps above this it will not cause stuttering? What is a minimum FPS should higher than 144HZ if no stuttering in this case?

Im going to have 85" 4k tv in living room and 125 to 150" 4k laser projector in bedroom

I prefer projectors. They are portable. I cant carry a 120” television with me when im on the go. I can size the image to whatever i decide i want to have as my viewing space. Both tv and projector markets complement each other.

Dont trust this video I dont think its correct at all. There is a halo around the white even in OLED, which means there is a Halo regardless of FALD. This defeats the whole purpose of the test

No need for a video. Just get the biggest you can afford, room does not matter. Don't waste your money on anything smaller than 75", you'll regret it and eventually want more. I use 85" as my computer monitor sitting on sofa just 2 meters (about 7 feet) away and it's been great. But I won't mind trading it for 98" once prices get reasonable on that.

I was running behind Dolby vision without knowing the difference but now I know HDR 10 is great.

The HDR10+ appears to be more "washed out" in general.

Hey VillaMan, how were you able to achieve the TV flush to the wall, without the cables getting in the way, even though your power outlet is on the right side of the G4?

Are you aware of issues with the eARC HDMI 2 port on this TV?…..Because quite a lot of users are having issues with it. I was going to buy this TV last weekend, but since I’ve heard about this issue I think I’ll wait until I know LG have fixed the issue. From what I’m hearing many owners think it’s a hardware and not a software issue. So it doesn’t look like it’s something that can be fixed via a firmware update.

Here I am, almost 5 years later to watch this to see how to put it back in the box to send back to warranty since it died 😂😭
